Director of Support Biography

Name: Rich Bielecki
University: West Virginia University
Major: Criminology and Investigations
Year: Junior
BIOGRAPHY:
Richard was born in the Community Medical Center in the bustling town of Toms River, New Jersey. He lived in Toms River his whole life. When he was younger he was very involved in soccer and mixed martial arts, but as he grew older martial arts began to take a greater role in his life and he eventually stopped playing soccer. In middle school he joined the wrestling team and continued to wrestle all throughout high school. He also had a short career on his high school’s football team.
Richard is part of a family of six and is the oldest of four children. He has a seventeen year old sister and seven year old twin brothers. He is very much a family man and takes every opportunity to spend time with them. Some things he enjoys doing includes fishing with his family during the summer, taking his brothers crabbing, playing sports, watching movies, mixed martial arts, weight lifting, and spending time with his friends.
At the end of his junior year in high school he made the decision to devote part of his life to serving the country which has given him his freedom and that he has so much pride and love for. That decision inevitably led him to become a cadet in the AFROTC program at West Virginia University. Although being very involved in AFROTC he has also involved himself in several programs that Army ROTC offers, such as the Ranger Indoctrination Program and Scabbard and Blade, to help improve himself as a cadet and future officer and to form friendships that will last a lifetime.
As a first semester freshman he realized that he needed to do something to help stratify himself among his peers. This realization lead him to become a candidate in AAS. He gives much of the credit to his performance in AFROTC to what he has learned during his AAS candidate process and as being an officer in his squadron.
As for his future in the Air Force, his highest aspiration is to become a Special Tactics Officer, but realizing the small percentage of STOs in the Air Force he would also enjoy being a pilot or in the security forces. He is looking forward to working as the 08-09 National Director of Support and helping to better Arnold Air Society as a whole.
