Active America
Introduction
From Resolution J6 presented at the 2011 National Conclave
Increasing levels of obesity and poor physical fitness have a profound effect upon individual and public health concerns,a poor generational legacy leading to national security issues, and widespread economic burden.
It is imperative that Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings spearhead an effort to increase awareness of good physical fitness and take decisive action to promote community involvement in healthy physical activity. Both Arnold Air Society squadrons and Silver Wings chapters can easily participate in this flexible Joint National Project due to the broad range of service opportunities available under the umbrella of physical well-being,as well as a large pool of manpower, widespread national presence, and commitment to military values and excellence.
The range of service projects under this JNP include nutrition education, community involvement in physical activity, alerting the American youth to the benefits and necessity of good physical health, and raising awareness of consequences and projected patterns.
