While it may not be immediately apparent to you, the AAS-SW website is undergoing a pretty significant update “behind the scenes.” While this is on-going, you may notice a few bumps and bruises on the site as we get some of our more custom code up to snuff, and get all of the appropriate information updated to reflect the various new headquarters and leaders who will be in charge for the coming year.

One of the biggest changes you may notice — if you had previously registered for our site, your account has been deleted. This was necessary because our user database had been polluted with lots of junk email addresses. If you re-register, you’ll notice some of the new measures we’re taking to prevent that as we go forward.

In the coming months, you should see some additional changes that will hopefully make this site more useful and fun for our core audience of active and alumni members of AAS and SW. Thanks in advance for your patience!

Updates: Useful Documents, Member of the Month

Silver Wings National President is pleased to announce the February Member of the Month. Congratulations to Marianna Prather from Mississippi State University for her hard work and dedication.

The Silver Wings Vision 2012 has been added to the useful documents on the website. It explains the many Objectives and Goals for SW over the next five years and ways to measure the success of achieving these goals. It should be reviewed by all National, Regional, and Chapter Presidents.

Also included in the useful documents is the SW REP (Region President: fomerly known as REO) Handbook, a very important document for those that want to run for Region President. It includes a lot of helpful tips for scheduling, continuity, NATCON, etc.

JAA now has it where you can make your member due payment through papypal. The link for paying through paypal is at the bottom of the membership application

Silver Wings Recruiting Video Sample

Silver Wings National Headquarters is seeking chapters and members who are interested in being part of the National Recruitment Video! This video aims to feature members doing the things that make our organization special and unique, and those things that seek to motivate individuals within the organization.

The following sample is an example of what a few members of the Challenger Chapter think Silver Wings means to them. You are encouraged to submit your thoughts on video about “What is Silver Wings..?” to the National Public Affairs at arey325 [ at ] erau [ dot ] edu and National Secretary at lippee0d [ at ] erau [ dot ] edu.

While this video does feature the lighter and more humorous aspect of the Silver Wings experience, the final product aims to showcase all aspects including professional both service. For those attending NATCON you’ll have the opportunity to be part of this production as well where the cameras will be rolling!
