Henry L. (Hank) Andrews,Jr.,is Vice President for Operational Capability in the Legacy Support Group of BBA Aviation plc. He also serves as the Fuel Measurement Products Integration Manager for the group’s Ontic U.K. business unit. BBA Aviation has market leading businesses in flight support,refueling,ground handling,engine repair and overhaul,and manufacturing and repair of a variety of aerospace components.
Hank joined BBA Aviation in 2009 and has also served as President of the company’s business unit in Houston,Texas,and Vice President for Business Development in the Legacy Support Group.
Previously,Hank was Assistant Vice President and Director of Business Development for the Applied Sciences Operation of Science Applications International Corporation. Earlier,Hank was Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing for Eclipse Aviation where he managed the aircraft manufacturer’s global supplier relationships,supplier performance,and internal sourcing processes.
Hank served for 27 years in the Air Force,earning his commission in 1981 as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Syracuse University in Syracuse,N.Y. His duties included intercontinental ballistic missile operations,aircraft and munitions maintenance,and a variety of policy-making roles. Hank commanded two wings,an Air Force base,two groups,and a squadron. He also served in the office of the Air Force Chief of Staff,the office of the Secretary of Defense,and as the Inspector General for Air Force Materiel Command. During Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM,Hank established and commanded an expeditionary maintenance group in Southwest Asia.
Initiated as a member of Arnold Air Society in 1978,he has served in the Society as a squadron commander and on the national staff level for two years. Following commissioning,Hank spent 14 years as a national administrative consultant to the Society. He has served on the Board of Trustees of Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings since 1995.
Hank holds graduate degrees from Louisiana Tech University and the National Defense University. He is also co-author and co-editor of the book Security in Korea:War,Stalemate and Negotiation,and has been published in Airpower Journal.
