Executive Management Center

The AAS/SW Executive Management Center (EMC) is responsible for providing administrative support and guidance to AAS and Silver Wings on a year-to-year basis. EMC has two full-time employees authorized. These employees are the Society’s Executive Director,currently Brig Gen Richard Bundy,USAF (Ret),and an Executive Secretary. The Executive Director is selected by the AAS-SW Board of Trustees and confirmed by a two-thirds vote of the NATCON General Assembly.

The Executive Director is responsible for:

  • Conducting the national administration of AAS-SW in the best interest of the organizations
  • Providing continuity in administrative,financial,and external affairs
  • Conducting periodic analyses of the organizations,including membership reports,suspense summaries,reports of inspections,investigations,studies,and surveys,etc.
  • Making recommendations on national policy formulation and implementation,as directed by the AAS National Commander,SW President,and Joint Executive Board
  • Making the materials required to administrate AAS-SW units available,including national manuals and forms,membership equipment,etc.

National Consultants

To assist in the performance of his or her duties,the Executive Director may appoint National Consultants. These consultants are unpaid volunteers with a particular history and expertise in AAS-SW,having usually held a variety of AAS or SW leadership positions. This experience enables them to advise the Executive Director,the AAS-SW Executive Board,and other headquarters in various aspects of the operations and administration of AAS-SW.
