Protocol Reminders
• Read dress quick reference guides for Silver Wings and Arnold Air Society members
• Everyone needs to read the JPM-1 which can be found in the Library
• Name tags are not worn with modified service dress
• Cell phones should be off during all business sessions and banquets
Joint Relations
• Everyone should have a Chapter/Squadron Chief of Protocol (CSCOPs)
• Hold at least 2 joint (AAS/SW/AFA) service projects, meetings, and socials per year
• Below is a briefing from the AFA National website that explains how we all relate
AFA
• Go to AFA.org and explore the field resources section
• Look up your local chapter and call them as soon as possible
• Everyone can attend AFA meetings
• Thank the AFA for all of their help and start networking
ARCOPs/CSCOPs
• CSCOP (Chapter/Squadron Chief of Protocol) is a mandatory joint position meaning it can be held by a chapter or squadron member
• CSCOPs should attend all Chapter and Squadron meetings, additional duties can be found in the Joint Protocol Manual (JPM-1)
• CSCOPs should be reporting to ARCOPs (Area/Region Chief of Protocol)
• ARCOPs should also read about their positions in the JPM-1 and then contact me directly with any questions
ARCONs
• All new ARCON staffs need to read the ARCON Planning Guide (JPM-2)
• Begin planning early with the goal of have everything basically finished by the end of summer
• Begin contacting a Guest Speaker as soon as possible
