National Director of Training’s Focuses

2009-2010

COMMUNICATION:
The ability to communicate thoroughly up and down the Chain of Command is vital to any organization. Arnold Air Society is composed of Squadrons located throughout North America and communication should not be hindered due to this. Contact with Squadron and Area DT’s is a main focus this year. With E-mail and cell phones being accessible at practically all hours of the day there should be no reason why responses shouldn’t be handled quickly and efficiently by myself and Area and Squadron DT’s in AAS. With us working together to quickly and accurately communicate with each other and have a smooth and efficient year.

TRANSFERRING OF IDEAS:
Ideas for professional development and training range as widely as the Squadrons in which they originate. And great ideas should not be kept to just local squadrons or those within the respective Area. For this reason it is a focus for myself and hopefully for other DT’s across the Nation to share amongst ourselves what ideas are working and what ideas have little success. With this open communication and sharing of training and professional development ideas, we can strive to become more efficient and resourceful in all aspects of AAS.

CONTINUE LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE:
As mentioned above, each Squadron and Area has their own traditions and legacies. It is this wide range of character and freedom that makes training so productive and purposeful. For these reasons it is not a goal to “standardize” training or to handicap Squadron DT’s and CTO’s to mandatory training ideas. Freedom and creativeness is encouraged in how each squadron wishes to training their respective candidates. With this in mind, as long as AAS standards and goals are being met, Professionalism, Honorary and Service, I highly encourage each Squadron to continue with their own respective legacy and continue to strive to better themselves and their training programs.
