Organization

As the National XO a primary goal of mine is to assist all national staff members in improving organization. This includes the creation of an AAS national calendar, suspense list, and national staff office hours. This will not only aid national staff members, but the society as a whole. This information will be available on the national website for viewing by all members of the society.

Communication

One major problem that has existed in the past is lack of communication. I will assist the other national staff members by setting up a system to record all incoming calls, the contact information of the caller, and the time of the call. With this system, the national staff can work to ensure that all calls and emails are responded to as soon as possible. To aid in horizontal communication, an AAS national roster will be distributed containing each area and squadron’s contact information.

Efficiency

No national staff can be effectively run without a high level of efficiency. This will be accomplished not only through organization and communication, but by balancing the workload of each national staff member. To accomplish this, work schedules will be created for each national staff member. This schedule will ensure that at least one national staff member is at our on-campus office at any one time. When the on-duty staff member leaves, they will inform the incoming staff member of the progress made and tasks to be accomplished.
